流程工业综合自动化国家重点实验室在国际上产生重要影响
流程工业综合自动化国家重点实验室在2017年进行的信息领域32个国家重点实验室评估中取得了排名第一的好成绩，在国内产生重要影响。同时，实验室长期以来坚持开展广泛深入的国际合作，在国际上也产生了重要影响。IEEE（Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers）是一个国际性的电子技术与信息科学工程师的协会，是目前全球最大的非营利性专业技术学会，其会员人数超过40万人，遍布160多个国家。IEEE控制系统协会是国际控制领域最权威的学术组织，其三任主席均访问过流程工业综合自动化国家重点实验室，并在IEEE Control Systems Magazine（IEEE控制系统学会的官方通讯刊物（机关刊），IEEE控制系统学会的所有重要信息均由该刊发布，历届IEEE控制系统学会主席的年度工作总结均由该刊发表）上给予高度评价。
2018年6月IEEE控制系统协会现任主席Francesco Bullo教授先后访问了浙江大学、东北大学流程工业综合自动化国家重点实验室、中国科学院数学与系统科学研究院等处，在IEEE Control Systems Magazine上特别评价了实验室：“非常感谢中国沈阳东北大学柴天佑教授的款待。他的声誉很高的流程工业综合自动化国家重点实验室是一个真正独一无二且令人敬佩的研究中心。该中心聚焦复杂工业过程自动化与绿色化方向上的控制科学与技术转移。”（I am especially thankful to Prof. Tianyou Chai for hosting me at Northeastern University in Shenyang, China. His highly regarded State Key Laboratory of Synthetical Automation for Process Industries is a truly unique and impressive center focused on control science and technology transition in the context of automation and greening of complex industrial processes.）
2015 年7月IEEE控制系统协会时任主席Maria Elena Valcher教授访问实验室，在IEEE Control Systems Magazine上评价：“实验室晚上九点时工作人员的数量之多、在研究经费和科技获奖方面取得的成绩令人赞叹……，我相信柴教授及其团队取得的成就在国际自动化学术领域不可比拟。” （the State Key Lab is just astonishing for the number of people working there (after 9 p.m.), the research funds it is able to attract, and the number of science and technology awards it has received......I believe that what Prof. Chai has been able to achieve has no equivalent in the academic world of automation.）
2010 年8月IEEE控制系统协会时任主席Roberto Tempo 教授访问实验室，在IEEE Control Systems Magazine上评价：“我出访的最后一站是位于沈阳的东北大学，柴天佑领导的众多的大学实验室在自动化和控制方面所作的大量研究活动给我留下了极其深刻的印象。”（My trip ended with an interesting visit to the Northeastern University in Shenyang, where I was positively impressed by the number of activities in the area of automation and control carried on by Chai Tianyou in various university labs.）
